Medical AI company AIDOT announced on the 29th that it has been finally selected for the “AI-Converged Medical Imaging Interpretation System Support Project,” hosted by the Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service (HIRA) and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA).
The company will develop an AI solution in the field of ureteral stones over the next two years together with faculty from the Department of Emergency Medicine at Hanyang University Hospital and Seoul National University Bundang Hospital.
On the 28th, at the opening ceremony for the “AI+X Project: Medical Data Utilization Demonstration Lab,” AIDOT also gave a live demonstration of “SonoDot AI,” its in-house AI-based carotid ultrasound system for early stroke pre-diagnosis.
Key figures attended the event, including Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum, along with officials from the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS), HIRA, and NIPA.
In addition to AIDOT, companies such as Crescom and JLK were selected for the project.
At the event, CEO Jeong Jae-hoon said, “With the support of the Ministry of Science and ICT, we will further accelerate overseas expansion by ensuring that Korea’s excellent AI solutions have not only domestic strength but also global competitiveness.”
