AIDOT, an AI-based medical ICT company led by CEO Jung Jae-hoon, announced on the 20th that it has begun developing AI solutions covering all areas of gastrointestinal endoscopy—from gastroscopy and small-bowel capsule endoscopy to colonoscopy—in collaboration with Professor Bang Chang-seok’s team from the Department of Gastroenterology at Hallym University Chuncheon Sacred Heart Hospital.

This development was accelerated after AIDOT was recently selected for the “Big Data Technology Development Project” supported by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, as well as the “Global Software Specialist Company Fostering Program” run by the Institute for Information & Communications Technology Promotion (IITP). For AI-based endoscopic diagnostic assistance systems in the gastrointestinal field, AIDOT worked jointly with specialists and professors to analyze additional requirements and areas for improvement, ultimately finalizing the functional definition of an optimized diagnostic solution that can be effectively supported in clinical practice.

Through this effort, AIDOT plans to develop the world’s first real-time, all-domain endoscopy CDSS (Clinical Decision Support System) based on AI that can be commercialized and deployed directly in clinical settings.

Park Min-chan, Director of AIDOT’s corporate-affiliated research institute and head of AI development, said, “Although the stomach, small intestine, and colon all belong to the digestive system, they differ significantly in many detailed aspects,” adding, “AIDOT possesses and applies organ-optimized, individual algorithms for each, and we are confident that we have the most advanced technological capabilities in the field of AI for gastroenterology.”

He further stated, “We will do our utmost to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of patient diagnosis and treatment by applying AIDOT’s proprietary ‘real-time lesion tracking algorithm’ across all areas of gastroenterology.”

Professor Bang Chang-seok of Hallym University Chuncheon Sacred Heart Hospital said, “We will strive to introduce the real-time lesion-tracking gastroscopy AI solution, which is already at a near-completion stage, to the medical field first,” adding, “We will also work hard to ensure that the capsule endoscopy and colonoscopy solutions currently under additional research gain recognition both domestically and internationally.”

Currently, AIDOT is conducting global sales activities together with its overseas expansion partner, S-Net Systems.

AIDOT and S-Net Systems are jointly pursuing entry into the Chinese, Southeast Asian, and European markets with the cervical cancer AI solution “Cerviray AI” and the carotid ultrasound AI solution. Through overseas market expansion, the companies plan to actively promote AI systems across all areas of gastroenterology and secure early market awareness.

CEO Jung Jae-hoon of AIDOT emphasized, “In line with the government’s recently announced Korean New Deal policy, we will swiftly secure overseas markets with Korea’s AI medical ICT technologies,” adding, “We aim to grow into a company that contributes to Korea’s rise as a global leader."
