AIDOT and Generalnet Sign MOU for AI-Based Real-Time Otitis Thermometer Development (2024.03.04) Original article link AIDOT (CEO Jaehoon Jung) announced on March 4 that it has signed an MOU with Generalnet for the joint development of an AI-based real-time otitis (middle ear infection) thermometer. The MOU signing ceremony took place at the GN Group’s main conference room, with Generalnet CEO Kangho Song, Executive Director Naksun Park, and Director Hyungki Yoon in attendance, as well as AIDOT CEO Jaehoon Jung, Executive Director Yunjae Lim, and Director Garam Lim. Both companies agreed to cooperate closely to grow into unicorn enterprises. Based on AIDOT’s experience in AI software and medical device development, the company will be responsible for hardware and software development, production, and regulatory approval. Generalnet—currently accelerating its entry into the healthcare market based on its home healthcare brand GN Body Doctor—will handle product design, mold investment, manufacturing, and sales through its manufacturing, distribution, and marketing channels. The new home-use product will function as a thermometer and is distinguished by its ability to diagnose middle ear diseases quickly and conveniently, with approximately 95% accuracy. An AIDOT representative stated, "While the current market for thermometers related to febrile illnesses is only about 55 billion KRW, entering the market with an otoscope thermometer could expand the market to an estimated 950 billion KRW. Through our partnership with Generalnet, a professional home healthcare device company, we will continue to introduce home healthcare items that align with the era of AI.”
