“Plans to provide free screenings for 1,000 people from May 10–12 at Lucky Chinatown in Manila”

AIDOT (CEO Jeong Jae-hoon) announced that for three days starting May 10, it will promote its AI-based cervical cancer diagnostic solution, “Cerviray,” by providing free cervical cancer screenings to 1,000 local residents at Lucky Chinatown in Manila, Philippines.

Officials from the Philippine government are expected to participate in the screenings, which will be carried out together with CerviQ, AIDOT’s Philippine partner. In addition to the screenings, AIDOT plans to declare May as “Philippines Cervical Cancer Eradication Month.”

According to Dr. Bogs, the founder of CerviQ in the Philippines, cervical cancer is the second most common cancer among women in the Philippines, and 11 people die from cervical cancer every day. Dr. Bogs explained the background of the event, saying, “Cervical cancer is a cancer that can be sufficiently prevented through early screening,” and “If we implement early screening by introducing AIDOT’s Cerviray, we can create an eradication effect across the Philippines.”

Currently, in the Philippines, only 7.7% of women aged 18 to 65 receive an initial cervical cancer screening. Expansion is difficult due to limitations such as geographic conditions and screening methods.

In response, AIDOT and CerviQ have adopted the motto “END CERVICAL CANCER IN PHILIPPINES” for the event, and set the slogans “AI CAN CERV” and “AI CAN SERVE.”

To prepare, AIDOT applied Cerviray on-site in the Philippines several months ago and conducted clinical testing. Through this, it completed performance verification and finalized a screening system incorporating the colposcopy camera developed by AIDOT.

CEO Jeong Jae-hoon said, “We do not spare praise and respect for our partner Dr. Bogs’ efforts to eradicate cervical cancer in his country,” adding, “In step with his efforts, we will provide our full support so that Cerviray can contribute to women’s health in the Philippines.”

He added, “Because it is difficult to provide on-site support in Manila due to COVID-19, we are conducting local testing by mobilizing real-time remote support systems and remote interpretation systems,” and said, “To make this event meaningful at the national level for both Korea and the Philippines, we will share congratulatory videos from Korean medical staff and institutional stakeholders who have worked with AIDOT on research and overseas expansion, so they can participate remotely as well.”
