Medical AI startup AIDOT announced on the 6th that it has completed registration of the main patent for “SonoDot AI,” its AI-based carotid ultrasound diagnostic system.
This system enables even users who are not proficient in carotid ultrasound to easily identify plaque that can contribute to stroke.
An AIDOT official said, “Because it is based on a portable ultrasound device, we can now help disseminate early carotid ultrasound screening for stroke prevention not only in Southeast Asian countries that lack medical personnel and infrastructure, but also in Japan, where house-call medical care is well established, as well as in North America and Europe.”
At the same time, AIDOT also registered a patent for the “colposcope camera,” a core component of “Cerviray,” its AI-based cervical cancer solution.
The company explained that this will allow it to accelerate its efforts to strengthen global intellectual property protection.
CEO Jeong Jae-hoon said, “As the roughly 30 patent applications filed to date are registered one by one, we will further strengthen the company’s competitiveness by securing intellectual property rights not only in Korea but also for overseas patents.”
