Buzzpole, a medical ICT company, signed a joint venture agreement with China's Zhongzhe Group at the Pangyo Marriott Hotel in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, on the 8th.
The signing ceremony was attended by Zhongzhe Group Chairman Ha Yoon-taek, Vice Chairman Na Gon, Executive Vice President (CSO) Kyo Kook-heon, Chairman Jang Hong-feng of Yonsei Dongsa, and Managing Director Jang Gyeong-yo of Hunan Province; Buzzpole Korea Co-CEOs Jeong Jae-hoon, Choi Sung-won, Director of Strategic Planning Kim Yong-jun, CTO Kim Jin-hyeon, Professor Kim Ki-dong of Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, and Professor Kim Sung-min of Korea University Anam Hospital.
Through this official joint venture agreement signing ceremony, Buzzpole agreed to jointly establish a cervical cancer research center with Zhongzhe Group in Hunan Province, China. The center will also expand into an AI-based medical ICT healthcare research center for gynecological cancers, including breast cancer, in addition to cervical cancer.
Buzzpole's AI-based remote cervical cancer diagnosis system, "Serviclinic A.I.", is scheduled for commercialization in China in the first half of 2019 after undergoing clinical trials and receiving CFDA approval.
Buzzpole stated, "Its performance has already been proven by a Korean software certification agency, and all reviews for CFDA approval through a Chinese joint venture have been completed." "With this foundation for commercialization in China, we are considering expanding our services beyond gynecological cancers like cervical and breast cancer to include cerebrovascular, dementia, cardiovascular, and lung cancer, areas that align with China's aging population and its long-term care policies." Buzzpole Co-CEO Choi Seong-won stated, "This final contract with the mid-sized group is a green light for Korea's AI healthcare sector to expand overseas. While AI technology alone is already more advanced overseas, the services provided through collaboration with Korea's outstanding medical professionals are unrivaled. I believe that success in the AI healthcare sector will be determined not by remaining solely in research, but by actively expanding overseas and commercializing it into real-life applications."
